TimeRush

Summary :
In TimeRush, you play as a snake in a fast-paced arcade game where every second counts. Push your limits! The gameplay loop is simple but intense: collect fruits to grow your snake and rack up points, but watch out — a decremental timer keeps the pressure on. The longer you survive and the faster you collect, the higher your score multiplier. Can you reach the target score before time runs out?

Gameplay Features :

• A decremental timer that gets shorter as you progress, creating increasing pressure
• A score multiplier based on time left — the faster you collect, the more you earn
• Special fruits:
  • Lemon — spawns a pair of portals on the map edges for strategic teleportation
  • Berry — reduces speed and extends the timer for a moment of relief
    
  • Pear — slows down time temporarily
• Visual stress effects (vignette, lighting) that intensify as the timer approaches zero

Technical :
This project was made using Unity 6 and uses many different features, including: AudioSource, AudioManager, Feedbacks Manager, Prefabs, 2D Particle System, Physics2D, Coroutines, URP (Global Volume, 2D Lights, ...), and UI (Canvas, TextMeshPro).

The game contains multiple scenes: one for the main menu, one for the gameplay, one for the victory screen and one for the game over screen. I implemented several scripts to manage the snake (movement, growth, collision), a collection of managers to handle score, speed progression, timer reduction, stress effects, portal lifecycle, and food spawning with a weighted random system.
